Meander Valley Council working together

Following consultation with the community, including land owners and businesses, Meander Valley Council has undertaken further design of the improvements to Westbury Road and Prospect Vale Marketplace.

This is consistent with the agreed actions of the Community & Stakeholder Consultation Report, July 2012. The concept plan includes:

• New roundabout to improve safety and ease congestion
• Retain existing heavy vehicle access off Westbury Road
• New service station exit
• New exit only for light vehicles onto Jardine Crescent
• Improved pedestrian access.

The community feedback on the concept plan closed on 7 May 2013. Representations were presented as part of a report to the May Council meeting where it was decided that Council:

a.  approve the concept of the roundabout and associated access improvements at Prospect Vale Market Place as shown in concept plan (LN12038-P6); 

b.  commence the design development phase in consultation with the affected landowners and utility owners; and

c.  will approve the final detailed design at a later date.”

Council is currently undertaking detailed design and service locations at this section of Westbury Road over the next three months.
